Tate McRae, a 16 year old dancer turned popstar from Calgary, Canada, first gained recognition in 2016 after auditioning for American talent show So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation, aged 13.
Placing third in the show, McRae went on to star with Maddie Ziegler on Dance Moms, before deciding to focus on a singing career, launching her YouTube channel (which now boasts 1.8 million subscribers) in 2017. Her debut single, Tear Myself Apart, was released in September, with the self-choreographed video amassing nearly a million views in two weeks, leading to McRae being named YouTube’s Artist on the Rise. Currently planning her next music video and first live shows, the up and coming singer is due to tour and release more music at the beginning of 2020.
